DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) is a hair transplantation method also known as the pencil technique. Hair follicles taken from the nape area are placed in special implanter pens called Choi and placed directly into the transplantation area without the need for a grooving step. In this way, the waiting time of the roots outside the tissue is shortened and the aim is to enable more frequent transplantation.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and takes an average of 6-8 hours, depending on the number of roots to be transplanted. It is normal to see crusting and slight redness in the first days after transplantation; Washing and care steps are explained in detail by our team. Some of the transplanted hair falls out (shock loss) in the first weeks and permanent hair grows gradually over months.
DHI is especially used in cases where sparse areas are desired to be tightened without shaving the existing hair. The suitability of the method for you and the graft planning are determined individually after the physician's examination.
